Café Mocha:

Also called as moccacino, café mocha takes its name from the Red Sea coastal town of Mocha, Yemen, which as far back as the fifteenth century was a dominant exporter of coffee, especially to areas around the Arabian Peninsula. Mocha coffee has a chocolate flavor. The cafe mocha was created to mimic that natural flavor.

Americano:

Café Americano, or Americano (English: American coffee) is a style of coffee prepared by adding hot water to espresso, giving it a similar strength to, but different flavor from, regular drip coffee. The strength of an Americano varies with the number of shots of espresso and the amount of water added.

Cappuccino:

Cappuccino is a coffee drink topped with foamed milk. It is made in a steam-producing espresso machine. The espresso is poured into the bottom third of the cup, followed by a similar amount of hot milk. The top third of the drink consists of milk foam; this foam can be decorated with artistic drawings made with the same milk, called latte art. In a traditional cappuccino, as served in Europe and artisan coffee houses in the United States, the total of espresso and milk/foam make up between approximately 150–180 ml.

Café Latte:

A latte is a coffee drink made with espresso and steamed milk. The term as used in English is a shortened form of the Italian caffè latte or caffellatte, which means "milk coffee". In northern Europe and Scandinavia the term 'café au lait' has traditionally been used for the combination of espresso and milk, but this term is used in the US for brewed coffee and scalded milk. In France, 'caffè latte' is mostly known from American coffee chains; a combination of espresso and steamed milk equivalent to a 'latte' is in French called 'grand crème' and in German 'Milchkaffee' or 'Melange'.

It doesn’t end at coffee…

Café Amis also provides you with single bites which will tickle your taste buds as you sip on your coffee.

Wake up to the smell of coffee..

Coffee almost always smells better than it tastes. There is a reason the phrase is ‘wake up and smell the coffee’ and not ‘wake up and taste the coffee’.

Why is it so rare for it to taste as good as it smells? Conversely, why does horrible smelling cheese often taste glorious?

Recently, scientists have done significant research and think they have found the answer to this conundrum. It all has to do with the link between taste and smell, and the fact that we smell in more ways than one…

The Tongue, Overrated?

Taste, which we perceive as coming from our tongue is actually largely down to receptors in our nose. The tongue can only give us so much information. It tells us whether food or drink is sweet or sour, salty or bitter but it’s the nose that gives us a much more complex set of taste indicators. You don’t believe me? Try eating your next meal whilst pinching your nose and you might realise just how important it is!

Smell is a pretty amazing sense, in that it is the only dual sensory modality. What exactly does this mean? How can we smell in two ways?

The receptors in our nose can move two different ways, depending on whether we are inhaling things from the environment into us, or whether air comes up through the nasal passage and is breathed out of us. The dual sense of smell has a huge impact on the taste of both coffee and cheese and how we perceive flavours.

When we smell the lovely scent of freshly ground coffee, it is the result of our receptors that are directed towards the outside of the nose, that send that message to the brain. This is a different message to that sent when we taste coffee. When the drink is swallowed, the aroma travels up through the throat and encounters the receptors facing towards the throat, that send a different message to the brain, resulting in a much less satisfying sensation.

Know your coffee

Coffee is a potent source of healthful antioxidants.

In fact, coffee shows more antioxidant activity than green tea and cocoa, two antioxidant superstars. Scientists have identified approximately 1,000 antioxidants in unprocessed coffee beans, and hundreds more develop during the roasting process. Numerous studies have cited coffee as a major – and in some cases, the primary–dietary source of antioxidants for its subjects.

How it works: Antioxidants fight inflammation, an underlying cause of many chronic conditions, including arthritis, atherosclerosis and many types of cancer. They also neutralize free radicals, which occur naturally as a part of everyday metabolic functions, but which can cause oxidative stress that leads to chronic disease. In other words, antioxidants help keep us healthy at the micro-level by protecting our cells from damage. Finally, chlorogenic acid, an important antioxidant found almost exclusively in coffee, is also thought to help prevent cardiovascular disease.

Caffeine provides a short-term memory boost.

When a group of volunteers received a dose of 100 milligrams (mg) of caffeine, about as much contained in a single cup of coffee, Austrian researchers found a surge in the volunteers’ brain activity, measured by functional magnetic resonance imagery (FMRI), as they performed a memory task. The researchers noted that the memory skills and reaction times of the caffeinated volunteers were also improved when compared to the control group who received a placebo and showed no increase in brain activity.

How it works:  Caffeine appears to affect the particular areas of the brain responsible for memory and concentration, providing a boost to short-term memory, although it’s not clear how long the effect lasts or how it may vary from person to person.

Coffee is healthy for your heart.

A landmark Dutch study, which analyzed data from more than 37,000 people over a period of 13 years, found that moderate coffee drinkers (who consumed between two to four cups daily) had a 20 percent lower risk of heart disease as compared to heavy or light coffee drinkers, and nondrinkers.

How it works: There is some evidence that coffee may support heart health by protecting against arterial damage caused by inflammation.

Your liver loves coffee.

It’s true: In addition to lowering the risk of liver cancer, coffee consumption has been linked to a lower incidence of cirrhosis, especially alcoholic cirrhosis. A study in the Archives of Internal Medicine demonstrated an inverse correlation between increased coffee consumption and a decreased risk of cirrhosis–a 20 percent reduction for each cup consumed (up to four cups).

How it works: Scientists found an inverse relationship between coffee drinking and blood levels of liver enzymes. Elevated levels of liver enzymes typically reflect inflammation and damage to the liver. The more coffee subjects drank, the lower their levels of enzymes.

Coffee may help curb certain cancers.

Men who drink coffee may be at a lower risk of developing aggressive prostate cancer. In addition, new research from the Harvard School of Public Health suggests that drinking four or more cups of coffee daily decreased the risk of endometrial cancer in women by 25 percent as compared to women who drank less than one cup a day. Researchers have also found ties between regular coffee drinking and lower rates of liver, colon, breast, and rectal cancers.

How it works: Polyphenols, antioxidant phytochemicals found in coffee, have demonstrated anticarcinogenic properties in several studies and are thought to help reduce the inflammation that could be responsible for some tumors.

Hear it from the experts.

How it all started!

It all started a few years ago...

But, before actually talking about how it all started, I would like to describe what made it start.

What ignited the engine inside me and put the vehicle that I wanted to drive, in gear!

Let me take you back to the times when we all know that,
Morning – the time for school.
Afternoon – the time to "STUDY" (Let’s be honest, all we did was either sleep or play video games!)
And then comes the most awaited time of the day – EVENING!! The time to have fun.. to play.. to run.. to fall.. get up and fall again.. never did we get tired of these events recurring daily in our lives!

That was the time when,
‘आज बैट मैं नहीं तू लाएगा’
‘मैं हर रोज़ bowling क्यों करू?’
‘football मेरा है तो मैं captain बनूँगा’
were some of the most important issues in our lives.

And the thoughts that troubled us were

when will our exam get over?
when will the vacation start?

But, getting back to reality, all these things have changed!
The issues we face now is about placements,  grades to get good placements, salary packages etc.

The things have changed... but feeling have not!

When we were children we always had our friends by our side. We fought, we patched up, but never left each other’s side.

Anxiety, Worry, Fear, Happiness, Excitement, Sadness.... all these feelings still persist.
And we still want our friends to be by our side to share all these feelings.

Where do you go?
What do you do?
How do you spend time?

These questions trouble us when we think of spending some time to bring out the feeling in us and change our mood.

We all want to go with our friends to some place where we could spend as much time with them as we want. The place where we could change a bad mood to a good one and spread the good mood among others!

That's when an idea struck like a lightening!

That's when I thought, what place would be better to "chill out" than a cafe! That's when I thought of opening a cafe.

A place where moods are changed, memories are reminisced, new memories are made, time spent with the loved ones!

All this just over a cup of COFFEE!
